Soul Companion

She was a wounded soul

Who was devastated

By the crooked eyes

Of the society.

She was a lonely soul

Whose existence

Didn’t mattered anyone.

She was thrown

Into the pangs of darkness

Without any hopes

Without any folks.

She stayed there alone

In grief and pain.

One day,

She opened her eyes

And saw a slight

Ray of light.

She stood up slow

And walked to the side

Where the light came in

With immense surprise.

She stood somewhere

Far from the light

And looked to wall

Without blinking a sight.

Through her eyes

She gave a smile

Seeing her shadow

Standing afar.

She walked two steps

In the fear of losing it

But to her astound

It followed her trail.

She was contended

To know that she was not alone

She knew that wherever she went

Her “Soul Companion”

Would accompany her.

Her shadow gave her expectation

To break out of her vicious circle

To aspire to achieve her long lost dreams

To inspire people to rise and fly.
